Artists Beyond Boundaries

Important Updates 6-10-26

Dear Artists Beyond Boundaries Community,

It is with both gratitude and reflection that we share an important update regarding Artists Beyond Boundaries.

After extensive planning and evaluation of our programs and events, Access to Independence has made the decision to discontinue Artists Beyond Boundaries as an annual event.

This decision was not made lightly. Over the years, Artists Beyond Boundaries has become so much more than an art show. It has been a space where artists with disabilities shared their talents, told their stories, and built connections through creativity. Together, we have celebrated artistic expression, fostered community, and highlighted the important role that art plays in disability pride and inclusion.

We are incredibly grateful to every artist, volunteer, sponsor, attendee, and supporter who helped make the event possible. Your creativity, enthusiasm, and commitment helped shape Artists Beyond Boundaries into something truly special. Artists Beyond Boundaries leaves behind an incredible legacy, and that legacy belongs to all of you. Thank you for sharing your talents, your stories, and your passion with us over the years.

While Artists Beyond Boundaries will not continue in its current form, our commitment to connection, and community remains strong. We are exploring ways to incorporate some of the event's most meaningful elements into smaller, more accessible opportunities for artists and community members to connect, share their work, and support one another. (See details and opportunities below)

We hope you'll join us as we celebrate the legacy of Artists Beyond Boundaries and begin imagining what comes next together.

We look forward to staying connected and continuing to build inclusive spaces together.

With gratitude,

Join Us for an Arts Community Open House

For those interested in continuing to explore creative opportunities and community connections, we invite you to join us for an upcoming Open House at Access to Independence. We will be welcoming several community arts organizations and partners who will share information about their programs, events, and opportunities for artists with disabilities to stay involved in the local arts community.

The Open House will also be an opportunity to learn more about Access to Independence's programs and services, and to hear about our vision for carrying forward some of the most meaningful elements of Artists Beyond Boundaries.

Whether you've participated in Artists Beyond Boundaries before or are simply interested in connecting with other artists and creatives, we'd love to see you there.

Community Needs Survey

As Access to Independence explores new, community-centered opportunities for artists and creatives, we'd love your input.

This survey will help us better understand what was most meaningful about the event and what kinds of future programs would best support artists in our community.

Looking Back at Artists Beyond Boundaries

The Artists Without Boundaries event was a wonderful experience. As an artist, it is difficult to find opportunities to express yourself and showcase your work. For individuals with disabilities, it is especially difficult...I greatly appreciated being in an environment filled with supportive and engaged individuals, where I did not have to worry about how I was being perceived. I would highly recommend this event to any artist with a disability, especially those who wish to begin exhibiting their artwork but don't know what to expect. Thank you for fostering such a welcoming atmosphere!
