Assistive Technology Highlight: Palm Peeler

Thanks to a partnership with WisTech Assistive Technology Advisory Council, Access to Independence has over 1,000 pieces of assistive technology you can borrow for up to three

weeks. Try something before you buy it, to see if it's right for you! Like this Palm Peeler!

The Palm Peeler is great for those with arthritis, Parkinson's, limited dexterity, and hand/finger pain sufferers. Peel fruit and vegetables by running your hand over them, with the palm peeler comfortably in the palm of your hand. The double finger loops helps the peeler to stay in place.

Three different angles of the Palm Peeler. One from the front, one from the back, and the final image showing a close up of a hand using the palm peeler on a carrot.

It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Access to Independence is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Access to Independence is currently working with an independent website auditor to ensure we become fully WCAG 2.1 level AA compliant.
