Independent Living Specialist
Mikael is very new to ACCESS and is most grateful to be a part of this fun and dynamic team of truly outstanding people.
His identities are multifaceted—consumer of vocational rehabilitation (Veterans Voc Rehab/Chapt 31), dad of two boys aged 12 and 10, armed forces Veteran with a disability (First Gulf War), he loves running and weight lifting, watching pretty much any alt/ska/punk band in concert or on Youtube, teaching college, and helping other people with disabilities change their life through education, employment, and empowerment. He has a particular interest in the intersections of technical college student-veterans of Color who experience disability and who identify with Military Sexual Trauma (MST).
His favorite leisure activities include hearty belly laughter, riding large and fast motorcycles (but pretty much any type with wheels and a motor), reading non-fiction and philosophy, and music at home--he does not venture into the mosh pits.
