Elaine's StoryIndependent Living Specialist
Elaine moved to Wisconsin and became part of the Access to Independence team in January 2023. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Fort Hays State University in Kansas with a minor in Criminal Justice. Prior to joining Access to Independence, Elaine worked as the day service coordinator for a rural farm where she provided unique and educational experiences designed to teach important life skills to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She built many precious bonds with the individuals she assisted and believes that fostering meaningful relationships with people is the best foundation for providing service, support, and advocacy. In her personal time, Elaine enjoys a quiet day spent reading, playing video games, listening to music or podcasts, spending time exploring the city – specifically new restaurants – with her partner, Connor, and caring for their beloved elderly cat, Jewels. |
