This new Advocacy Hub is designed to be an interactive resource for people in Columbia Dane Dodge and Green Counties. Here is a quick overview of the new features that are available in the advocacy hub: below you’ll find the action alert ticker as well as upcoming events. To the left you’ll find the main navigation buttons which are designed to direct you to information. Each page contains an explanation of the information included. What is Advocacy
Advocacy has and always should be a guiding principle of any IL center, and at ATI we believe that providing individuals with the skills and resources to become strong advocates not only empowers themselves, but the community as a whole. Organizations like Access to Independence began over 30 years ago, and were the direct result of people with disabilities getting active in fighting for their rights.
What is ActionNet
_ ActionNet is a network that will allow for people in Columbia, Dane, Dodge, and Green counties to stay connected and learn about local state and federal issues that impact people with disabilities in their area. It is made up of local grassroots groups that take on issues that are important to the members. ActionNet keeps local groups and their members informed of what other groups are doing, give them the opportunity to share ideas, and build a stronger coalition to address issues they identify in their communities.
